Hi, after a long search for a good metal hood for my 2.8/20mm CZJ Flektogon lens (M42), I have found an (almost) perfect solution!
I believe this would fit the Pentax 20mm lenses too, and very probably the ex-USSR 20mm designs as well. It's a Tokina round metal clip-on (Nikon style, with locking screw and rubber ring inside gripping the lens barrel outside) hood for their AT-X 28-135 zoom. It's very shallow but not so like the original pentax hood (the "satellite dish" <g>). A square would be better, but try to locate a 20mm square hood! It's 67mm clip-on type, fits on the outside of lens' filter ring or a filter's ring. It doesn't vignette on the 20mm !!! If I wanted to put it on a UV filter, it would have to be a slim type, as my Hoya HMC M67 filter (normal size) removes the hood too much to the front of lens so it vignettes the corners slightly. So a slim filter or no filter at all. The flektogon is quite flare-prone, but still the hood helps a lot! If you know of a SQUARE metal or plastic clip-on locking hood which would fit the 20mm flektogon, share! Square would be even better. Also, would you know of a good plastic (I would like more plastic than metal on this lens, though) hood for the CZJ 1.8/80mm Pancolar (M58 thread)? This lens is rather flare-prone because of the super-large front element, even with multicoating. So a near-perfect hood would be advisable.
