Hey Ann! Commented too...just wanted to see how it works. Can you
moderate the comments (i.e., delete...)?

Well I disabled it just so that little "i" wouldnt show up... but now I realize that it doesn't remove the "i" which is the info box... and of some interest.
so I'll put it back ... and see if your comment is still there :)

When i disallowed it , it therefore took out the comments already there.

It was nice to get your nice comments, all you guys, but there wasn't anything on the first page that told me there were any there... I had to click on each image to see them. Don't expect to be looking at them
too often - and what about those of you who have LOTS of photos?

I might moderate your comment if I could , though - that's a woman
walking across the street :-)

Yes
but I haven't looked to see if anyone said anything

I've just allowed commenting:

Well it beats me where one can comment...
I've allowed it as well - but don't see anywhere to enter a comment
either on your page, mine or Dan's

hmmmm

This works for me:

* Go to an artist's page
* Select a photo to display
* Click on the "i" icon on top right
* Enter the comment in the 'comments box'

I just left a comment on your "Nationale station, Paris"

OMG the "i" is ON the photo? whose lamebrain idea was that??

And do they think everyone knows at a little "i" in a box means you can
comment? They have words at the top on the right.. what's wrong with
"comments"??

Thanks for the nice words, tho :-)

But now I'm going to go take the "allow comments" off.
seeing as there are share buttons for Facebook, email etc
anyway.

I also noticed that it looks a lot more straightforward to sign up for
an account.

When you search for an artist, you can't just click on their name from
the selection, you also have to click on "go".

I just found the submission page, accessible from the artist

seemed easier that under the previous system.

It looks like you can only upload one photo at a time...
I did three. Ironically, I couldn't upload a few because I had
previously sized them down to the dimension limits they had earlier
(600 high) so it rejected it as too small.

They no longer specify which areas are "required" and the list for
chosing
category is slightly different in the paragraph telling you
what they are and the actual list you click on.

still, it is pretty fast and easy to see.

all in all it is better than before, I think

There is a notice on the artist page that images may be submitted
in
only one category. Since they were previously listed in several
categories, the one category now given may not be the best. I am
going through my gallery and changing some of the categories.

Any hint as to when new submissions will be accepted?

FWIW, I have tried all of the various general and Ann-specific
links
y'all have provided. Every single one produces a horribly
misformatted page
which is definitely not ready for prime time. Using Safari on
my Mac.
At
least it loaded fast!

I just tried it in Safari (on Windows 7 though) and it worked
great.
Also works in Opera and Firefox. The only thing I don't like is
that
it relies on outside APIs through JavaScript so I have to tell
NoScript to accept googleapi.com every time I visit.

Vast improvement over the old gallery. Flash sucks (mostly).
