Sorry, I forgot to answer you question about my feelings re the DA 55~300. I "almost" feel guilty when I see the images and remember how much the DA cost at B&H.. ($350). I recommended it to my older brother (the one who used to prove over and over that he was older and bigger and could beat me up...or maybe I was a slow learner) who has told me he bought one and loves it. It has the expected "consumer" operation, weight and feel and, as you may know, is a screw drive AF.
