I haven't any actual experience with either lens, but I can tell you
that I've heard the the DA is better than the FA at all focal lengths
that they share and at the short end all of those that they don't.

I recommended it to my older brother (the one who used to prove over

It has the expected "consumer" operation, weight and feel and, as you
may know, is a screw drive AF.
