Thanks, Mark, PJ and Ecke! My wife collects Swarovski, mostly inexpensive jewelry items and knick knacks. The displays in the Kristallwelten, inside the "giant" are rather interesting. There are exhibits about the history and manufacturing of crystal, as well as exhibits of most of the items they have produced and sold over the decades. The shop has the largest inventory of Swarovski anywhere, including a bikini covered with crystals and several VERY expensive camera lenses and as rifle scopes.
The trip to Wattens to see the Swarovski facility were part of the compensation to my wife for agreeing to visit Zurich, Bern, Lausanne and Geneva with me on that same trip. We did the journey by rail, which was wonderful. The best part was the journey from Lausanne to Geneva by boat along Lac Leman, with the Alps (and Mont Blanc) on one shore and the vineyards and castles on the other. It was a memorable trip. Swarovski was a small price to pay. <G> I found the "Giant" quite humorous, and laughed when I came across the image recently, so I decided to submit it to the Pentax Gallery. I would have been happier had they selected the other one I submitted at the same time, but I take what I get.
