Thanks, Larry. As you guessed, I didn't have much choice about the time of day or sky conditions. Since we were traveling by train on this trip, we caught one of the few buses from Innsbruck to Wattens, and had limited time there before the bus back to town. In addition to the giant and the displays in his innards, there were some lovely gardens and the Swarovski factory itself to be seen. A small nearby hill provided a lovely view of the Austrian Alps.
Since my wife speaks no German, she was not comfortable letting me wander about on my own while she visited the crystal displays. (Of course, everyone in the shop spoke perfect English.) Since my wife had a Swarovski Collectors Card, we were taken to the back room, where they keep the better examples of their featured items of years past. They also served free Champagne, coffee, cookies and finger sandwiches back there, so I kept my mouth shut and let my wife look to her heart's content. <G> Thanks for looking and thanks for your comments.
