anyone know why a folder named 48states , or 905683, etc... comes up in
explorer, or on My computer in front of all the folders that start with 2002, for instance.

The 48states was created by me, the 2002, etc ones, were created when uploading files. yet alphanamed folders come correctly alphabetized after the 2000 series.

I noticed it because i was earch for that newly created 48states file
and scrolled down after the 2000's of course.

jsut curious why this should happen -desn't seem right

Latest windows incarnations have the ability to discriminate between numbers and letters, hence they recognize that 48 is a lower number than 2002, instead of just doing the classical alphanumerical sorting of anything in the name.
