I thought about one of those a while back. The problem is that our
power goes out far more frequently than ideal, and the tankless
heaters don't work without power.
I think they make tankless gas water heaters.
If you've got natural gas to your house, I don't think you can beat a
gas fired water heater. Between winter ice storms & hurricanes, I've had
power outages around here that lasted from a week to a month, and I've
never been without hot water.
