I've never tried the Metz, though they have an excellent reputation. I
do have the Pentax 540 and can definitely vouch for it. I don't know
what the hot shoe sticking problem might be but I've never had it!
Build quality seems good but what is really exceptional about it is
the user-friendliness. It's the most intuitive and easy-to-use PTTL
flash I've ever used.
