Hi all, Happy Monday. What do you make of this...
Shooting at my daughter's gymnastics meet yesterday, I noticed my battery was starting to get low. I had an extra in my bag, so I switched it out. I took a shot, and then all kinds of clicking started to happen. It wasn't taking pics on its own, though that's what it sounded like... Maybe it was the sound of the mirror going up & down, I'm not sure... but it was all very odd. It seemed like the AF wasn't working, and once the clicking started, I couldn't get it to shoot. I shut off the camera, and turned it back on, to see if that would help. Nope. Each initial shot inspired a new round of random clicks and non-responsiveness, I took out the battery, and put the first one back in. This seemed to solve the problem, and I was able to continue as usual. I have yet to review the images, though... fingers crossed that the card isn't fried.... Still, I am left with lingering concerns.... Should I consider that battery (Pentax brand) a goner? I certainly don't feel comfortable putting it back into the camera... Has the camera been damaged in some way, deep in the electronic guts? What about the lens? Is it taking longer now to display the review image, or is it just my imagination??? Ugh. Larry... didn't you have a misbehaving battery situation not that long ago? Thanks for any thoughts... :) -c -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
