Hi,
AFAIK the Foma "rodinal" is marketed as R09, which would place it
in same league with the ORWO R-09 formulation. Having said that, I
never tried it (even though Foma is making it in my country <g>)
   yet.

Could you please elaborate on the different formulations, Shel?
   Thanks!

BTW, I wouldn't much trust Foma's own times. Try to use Rodinal or
ORWO's times as starters. Foma's times are often too short or too
   long ;-(

Second, Ilford Pan 400 is a film sold only on central & eastern Europe
markets. Some say it's HP5 (the before + version), some say it's a
lower quality HP5+ (only one coating than two coatings of HP5+),
some say it's a HP5+ sold at better price to capture the CE/EE
   market. God knows!

I have same results with the Pan 400 at 1600 as with regular HP5+
at 1600. Never tried the Pan 400 at 3200, which is HP5+'s push
   limit.

Now, Rodinal has by many people's opinion (mine too) best tonality
at 1:100 dilution. You might try to experiment from there.
   Especially with classical films.

I would disregard the Foma times and start with Agfa Leverkesen /
   old ORWO times.
