Mike, Doesn't sound like you got much of a bargain on either one of those lenses. Personally, I find myself cutting KEH some slack and wanting to send the lens back to Adorama (especially at EX), but I may be prejudice from other encounters.
I encourage you not to live with sub-standard optics. It will hurt the enjoyment you get from taking pictures when the results just don't seem to be as snappy as they could be. BTW, I like your choice of focal lengths and lenses. Regards, Bob S. They both look bit beat-up on the outside, but that's fine with me. What bothers me is quite a bit of dust inside both of them. I mean, not a few specks, the 24/2.8 really looks like a sandy beach if I look through a loupe. The other one is better, but still, after I checked the other lenses that I have, the two I just got have *much* more stuff in there. So here the question: am I obsessing with it? I read somewhere a rule of thumb "if you can count the specks, it's OK, otherwise, it will likely affect the image". Considering the prices, what would make more sense, clean them, send them back, or learn to live with it? >> - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
