Greenspun sold the site years ago. He came back briefly for a while to straighten things up but he's completely uninvolved with photo.net now. I suspect things might run better if he were still in charge.
since his byline is still there, and it reads like it was written by him, that's all the more reason not to ascribe the contents of that article to the motivations of the current owners
