I wouldn't get too hung up on details like that. Journalistic
restrictions on depictions of reality need not apply to other types of
photography or painting. Think of his stuff as pure fantasy. Maybe
he's got faeries with tiny LED flashlights and reflectors cunningly
concealed under rocks and stuff?
