Thanks, Joe.
At least I didn't have a boatload of money in my lens, I guess.
It's going to be a little while before I can replace it, but I'll just
have to make do with my K 50/1.4 in the meantime -- which I do like a
lot. So, all isn't lost. :-)

Walt, I know how you feel. I have had something like that to me a
couple of times. Once when I got hit on the sideline of the
Philadelphia Eagles while shooting the game for work and the other
time at a pro basketball game, I got hit by a very big player. Both
times I sent the glass back to Pentax for repair. These were both
manual focus glass, which were the 135 mm F 1.8 an the 300 mm F 2.8.
The camera did not get hurt, which was a LX. At the basketball game, I
was hit while holding the camera up to my eye, I do remember seeing
stars, it was a hard hit....All was not lost because the newspaper
paid to have the glass repaired..Hope you will feel better...Joe
Well, all I can say is that I'm utterly crestfallen today. Seems I
dropped my K-x with the A 50/1.7 -- leaving the lens inoperable and
irreparable. This is the last shot that will ever be taken with it.

I think it's fair to say I'm heartbroken.
