I'm very glad that is what Adobe does with Elements upgrades..
I still use version 2.0 for one or two particular tasks that I could
never make 5.0 do or features dropped.

Which is especially bad because Adobe "upgrades" don't upgrade but
just install themselves alongside your existing versions.
I'd consider that a feature in case the newer version is broken.
