What many don't realize is that these street corner charity hustlers are not employed by the charities they solicit funds for. The charities "subcontract" the work out to professional fundraising companies.
One can't imagine that much of the monies raised is left for actual charitable work once these fundraising companies are done with it; then there's the overhead and costs of the charities themselves.
