Yes, I can believe that.  The barrels and hoods of my F* 300/4.5's
are quite white (or perhaps slightly off-white), while the barrel
and hood of my A* 600/5.6 are distinctly and uniformly pale green.

However, there obviously are both whitish and greenish big A*
lenses.  All (or certainly at least most) of the 300/2.8's that have
been reported here are white.  On the other hand, most (but not all)
of the 400/5.6's have been reported as being slightly greenish.  I
think that my greenish 600/5.6 has been the only 600/5.6 reported
here.  (And nobody's chimed in with a 1200/8 yet - <g>.)

So, Boz, the question is not whether some of these critters are
greenish or not.  Rather, the questions are:  Which?  When?  Why?
