Hi, Boz. >> http://www.cetussoft.com/pentax/wt&grn.htm >> Or, is it just a case of sloppy image color consistency?
> Well, the colors are not consistent. Just compare the dark parts of > both lenses (shouldn't bothe be dark grey?). But I think that you are > right and the 300 is white and the 600 greenish. Well, of course, I ~know~ that ~my~ A* 600/5.6 is greenish. The question is whether some of the samples of the big A* lenses are ~supposed~ to be greenish or not. I added another image to that page, of a 3:1 blowup from portions of the Pentax USA 600/5.6 image. Although the enlargement, taken from a JPG, is a bit muddy, it can be seen that the white lettering is still white and not greenish, and that the silvery metal fasteners and knobs are still silvery and not greenish. I think that, ~if~ the entire image of the 600/5.6 on the Pentax site was tinged with enough green to turn a truly white barrel to a pale mint green, the white parts of the lens would ~not~ still be white, and the silvery parts would ~not~ still be silvery.
