you mean beyond the obvious (more RAM, faster processor)? i'm still a LR newbie, so others may have better tips, but i think your best hope is to up the size of your Camera Raw Cache (Preferences > File Handling); and you say you've pre-rendered previews, but are they 1:1? these suggestions are repeated by many sources, including:

also look at what else is happening on your computer (e.g. Time Machine); if you go Googling you'll see some advice i would ignore (such as defrag your hard drive and the old mantra, Repair Permissions)

i am still primarily using Aperture and with latest release versions (and pretty fast hardware) Aperture is subjectively quite a bit faster; others have tested and found the same, e.g.
