I'll probably have to find it while visiting
somewhere closer to "civilization".
: )
should you ever wade 500 miles upstream on our shared trickle, i'd help you
find it here in Denver ...
I think the meantimebrewing.com website design is very classy
looking.
the date of birth access to their site has the interesting flaw; it won't admit
those born in 1920 or before; i tested by decade, and "30" was the lowest it
would accept in the two-digit year-of-birth field
I was surprised to read that they are the ONLY UK brewer of
IPA (now I can't find where I read that).
you may have read that at the beermenus site you noted below: "Meantime are
Britain’s only brewers of authentic India Pale Ale", but it would have to be a
very contorted meaning of "authentic" as there are 18 British IPAs on this list
(though Meantime's is not):
<http://www.swipes.co.uk/beerlist.cgi?sort=Strength&o=a>
and 14 of them are 6% alcohol or under, which meets the definition for
English-style IPA i've cited below
I also tripped across this site, which purports to help you find beers
by location near you (or other major U.S. cities, assuming you are in
the U.S.)
http://www.beermenus.com/beers/meantime-ipa
it says Meantime's not available in Boulder or Denver, but i know it's at
several stores here (though i haven't tried it)
All is not lost in Nebraska, IPA-wise. If any of you is passing
through you owe it to yourself to find a Lucky Bucket IPA, brewed in
our own LaVista, Nebraska. It has become my summertime drink of
choice.
you should have many IPAs available as they were about the biggest craft
brewing craze of the aughts in the US, though the US version is usually not
true to style, so much so that the Brewers association has divided IPAs into
English-Style, American-Style and Imperial/Double (in increasing order of
alcohol content and bitterness, with the latter a creation of the US west coast
despite the name "Imperial")
i like IPAs, but thankfully the trend has tilted toward more complex beers such
as lambics & saisons (as well as the inevitable experiments, such as "Belgian IPA")
