I have no special knowledge of any sort. That said, my gut reaction is that it's not particularly relevant to anything. Given the existing A12 Camera Mount camera unit for the GXR, I can use Nikon, Pentax, Olympus, or any other SLR lens line since nearly all of them can be adapted to M-bayonet mount by dint of the M-bayonet being a 28mm register and all the SLR mounts being 38-48mm register. I use Nikon, Pentax and Olympus OM lenses on the GXR with mount adapters very easily. GXR fitted with Nikon Micro-Nikkor 200mm f/4 AI-S EDIF: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/25268645/GXR-long_macro.jpg What a dedicated PK mount might provide is auto-diaphragm operation and autofocus, but there are great complexities in doing that given that there are three different mechanical iris actuation models and two different autofocus drive systems to account for. And such a mount will make a GXR as bulky as a K-01 body at least. It comes down to the decision as to whether Pentax/Ricoh thinks there is adequate market to recoup the considerable investment required to produce a dedicated PK mount of this sort. -- Godfrey godfreydigiorgi.posterous.com -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
