I'm sure others are using Delta 3200 in 6x7 format, but Aaron's reviews
of this film led me to try a couple of rolls. First let me say that I
was never blown away by this emulsion in 35mm. It was okay, but no rave
reviews. Friday I shot some window light portraits of my pal Amy. The
film was Delta 3200, and I metered for 1600 but cheated a little because
there wasn't much light. I'd say it was rated at 2400. I had intended to
process it in D-76, as I have done with the 35 mm version, but I found I
didn't have enough. So I souped it in T-Max, following Ilfords
recommendation of 8 1/2 minutes at 20 degrees.
The film prints beautifully. Very little grain: 16 x20s are nice;
11x14s are gorgeous. Lots of mid range greys. Good contrast with a
number 2 filter and Ilford Multigrade IV. Just a very nice combination
for handheld BW with the 6x7.
