There's more to it than marketing - there are some products to back it up. Olympus have 3 very clearly differentiated and very comprehensive lines of lenses for their SLRs, aimed at different segments of the market, from beginners to people like me to professionals with money to spend. They also have a comprehensive system behind their top-of-the range SLRs, which I don't believe Pentax has. Olympus let the SLR bodies fall behind the market while they created the micro 4/3rds market, but they were years ahead of Pentax at the professional end of the market in camera bodies and even now I'd rate my E-3 at least equal to the top Pentax body.
