You would do it for the same reason we bought medium or large format
cameras when we shot film.
Medium and large format film really excel at wide angle, and by
comparison to APS-C digital, so does FF digital.
My biggest gripe with small format DSLRs is that because of the legacy
flange distance, the standard lens looks like a wide angle in the
viewfinder.
