I've recently acquired an HTC One Android and find that the sound has a very
limited range
- moving it even a centimetre or so away from my ear means I can't hear the
caller too
well - admittedly I have limited range in that ear! However, once it's in the
right place
the sound is clear and quite loud enough.

That seems to be generally true of audio things these days - I think they
expect people to
be permanently wearing headphones, or in the case of TVs to be plugged into
some sort of
home cinema set up with
superoctomegatronic-3D-HDQ- surround-sound Dolby bollocks. Or maybe it's just
that I'm a
deaf git.
