Hi: I have a Samsung 225BW monitor which has decided to go rogue on me. When I wake up my screens, it will flash on and then off again. If I cycle the power on and off a few times, it will light up and stay lit. Is this something that is repairable or should I just trash the thing? It's my second screen, so I'm not really too concerned that it is kind of a crap monitor, and I fear that if I replace it, I'll buy another good screen ($$$$).
I did a Google search for "Samsung 225BW" and Google immediately suggested "Samsung 225BW repair" instead. Don't know if that's a good sign or not, but it gives "About 18,800 results (0.25 seconds)". You might be able to do it yourself if you're handy with a soldering iron: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/repairing-the-samsung-225bw-22-monitor/ "This model monitor uses the IP-45130A power supply board. Typical symptoms of a power supply failure are no power, flashing power light and no display, slow to show picture or a white screen." Sounds like that might be similar to what you're experiencing. Don't know what you can do if you're not handy with a soldering iron, but that's really a question about the structure of our modern throw-a-way society as a whole. Around here, there's one retail electronics repair business still hanging on, so there's a place I could take it to to have it fixed, but I was going to do it myself, all of the supply houses that I would have gone to for parts are long gone. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
