Like Kodak, Lexmark is exiting the consumer inkjet printer business. Their
plan is to produce ink through 2015. This is probably pretty realistic
planning, while printers can last many years they seem to have an average
service life of 3 to 5 years. I don't know how long Kodak thinks they can
milk the ink cartridge business but I expect it would would be a world of
diminishing returns in fairly short order.
