Our first was a 1983 GL wagon, then my wife's '07 Tribeca, and my son's '08 WRX (not STI). I've got the Toyota FJ. AWD is a necessity on the 3 miles of steep, narrow, twisty dirt road to our home in the winter, and occasionally when it rains hard. The fact that the safety rating is top notch was the major decision point for the Subaru's for my wife and son. The WRX with the turbo just drives the mountain highways effortlessly.
