That was pretty much my thought, too.  Sandisk 30MB/sec cards can be picked
up for around $1 to $1.50 per GB from a lot of the online merchants. That's
about what the top-of-the-line cards could do when the K5 was released, and
I paid a lot more than that for the 8GB cards I picked up when I bought mine
quite some time later. I doubt if K5 needs anything more than that, but if it
does you can find the 45MB/sec cards (that's the "Extreme", not the "Ultra")
at much the same price if you look hard enough.

It looks as though the current top-of-the-line speed is around 95MB/sec
(the "Extreme Pro"), but that's going to cost about twice as much per GB.
