I'm planning on my son becoming the recipient of a NEX-6 and the 16-50 pancake zoom sometime in the next 60 days. While having a 16 instead of 24MP sensor, it still will have great image quality. It has a more standard PASM control dial (though I'm perfectly satisfied with the NEX-7 3-dial interface), has an enhanced, if not better, focus system over the NEX-7, and has Wi-Fi connectivity and some Sony phone/tablet apps that allow camera control from an iOS or Android device. Not sure the apps are a selling point. Wi-fi is. Having a camera of this quality in such a small form factor, and the ability change lenses if needed is pretty cool. With the pancake zoom I see it as a great walk-around camera. I'd like to see a real Ever Ready style case come out for it as opposed to the Sony version and knock-off cases, that don't seem to give the real Ever Ready flexibility or compactness of size. Viewfinder was a prerequisite and the NEX EVF is quite good. As before, I don't mind chimping with it on the NEX-7.
