Christine, If you put the card or cards back in the camera, does the camera see the photos ? If it does, hook up the camera to the computer by the cord as you said and copy all the images to the hard drive and then go from there and try again the other way. This way you at least have saved your images..Joe

Hi Everyone:

Well, the home team lost, I had some frustration with equipment, and now, for the first time since getting back into photography, Lightroom 4 is telling me it can't read my photos on two cards because "the disk was not properly ejected" and therefore, I can't import the photos to my catalogue.

This doesn't make sense since on my iMac desktop I always eject the card the same way--that is, drag the K-5 icon to the trash. It then disappears, and I remove the card from my Lexar card reader.

To test the reader and computer and Lightroom, I took some quick shots on a fresh card, and they imported just fine. I then ejected the card, took more shots, imported those, and they imported just fine.

So here are a few questions:

1) Should I try to import using the USB cable? If so, should I set the USB Connection to "MSC" or "PTP"? I'm referring to page 317 in the K5 manual.

2) Since the computer will recognize the K-5 as a removable disk, I should drag the K-5 icon to the trash to properly eject the K-5 after import, right?

3) Is there another option I should consider?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
Cheers, Christine
