Hi Everyone:

Well, the home team lost, I had some frustration with equipment, and
now, for the first time since getting back into photography,
Lightroom 4 is telling me it can't read my photos on two cards
because "the disk was not properly ejected" and therefore, I can't
import the photos to my catalogue.

This doesn't make sense since on my iMac desktop I always eject the
card the same way--that is, drag the K-5 icon to the trash. It then
disappears, and I remove the card from my Lexar card reader.

To test the reader and computer and Lightroom, I took some quick
shots on a fresh card, and they imported just fine. I then ejected
the card, took more shots, imported those, and they imported just
fine.

So here are a few questions:

1) Should I try to import using the USB cable? If so, should I set
the USB Connection to "MSC" or "PTP"? I'm referring to page 317 in
the K5 manual.

2) Since the computer will recognize the K-5 as a removable disk, I
should drag the K-5 icon to the trash to properly eject the K-5 after
import, right?

3) Is there another option I should consider?

Even though it's a Mac, I'd try shutting down & restarting the computer
then reinserting the card reader.
