Sounds like you're on the road to recovery, but I wonder... do you always import directly into LR from the card? I've never seen that error message in LR... What do I know, but I move files from card to drive, then import from drive to LR... so LR never has to read anything off a card... I've experienced sluggish focusing with my 16-50 especially when the batteries are less than fully charged... could that have been a factor?
