People seem to be forever comparing the stability of a tripod without the center column extended to that of a tripod with the center column extended. Most of the time the correct comparison to make is between the stability of *no tripod at all* and that of a tripod with the center column extended. Yes, keeping the center column retracted is a better option, but if it's not possible or practical it shouldn't be dismissed so lightly. -- Mark Roberts - Photography & Multimedia www.robertstech.com -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
