Well, I'll say it looks better than any of the commercial structures in
my town, all of which could be leveled and not one person would be out
of a job.

All around this area there are buildings marked for landmark
preservation. Yes, better mirror glass than concrete , but

I don't quite see the hideousness, but I have no idea what was there
before.
It looks like one of those all mirror-glass buildings that once it's
finished, all you'll see is what's around it to be reflected. If the
neighbors are attractive or interesting it might not be so bad.
