John, I'm not at all ignoring that... I meant "any one know this
photographer" literally.
This is not a amateur - whether illustrious or not, the 4 photos
of his or her's are evidence of that (I'll be showing snaps of the 3 I
Didn't buy after tomorrow)
My guess is this and the others were done as an assignment for some
purpose - for personal portraiture, a magazine piece, or a magazine ad.
The fact that no one can recognize the model or the photographer in an
online community NOW doesn't preclude the possibility that the model
is more than "just someones grandmother, etc."
I'd just really be interested to know who took the photos and stranger
things have happened than a light-bulb going on over the heads of
one of "us" with our being a truly international community.
From one of the other photos, I'd say this was someone shooting
anywhere the late 40's to the mid 60's .
I'll take your "obviously she's not FAMOUS famous" somewhat tongue in
cheek. How many "famous Famous" writers, scientists, business moguls,
statesmen in countries other than your own would you recognize in
photographs taken 50 years ago?
It would be neat if I found out WHOSE grandmother she might be.
And given the doggie in the photo - this could even be an early
Wegman, if it comes to that.
so You packed yet? :-)

Wilson White may just be another average Joe photographer who had the
photographs matted & framed for his own edification. The woman with the
pearls could just as easily be someone's mother, grandmother, cousin or
aunt as she could be any semi-famous person.
(Obviously she's not *FAMOUS* famous, since no one here recognized her.)

The others are still there, I semi hid them - but I don't think I needed
to - because I forgot to take my camera with me today. There was a 4th
which was a train station :(. But they were all framed and matted with
standard stuff that had yellowed. I'm thinking part of a retrospecive
of the guy's work?
Wondering if it was a shoot for a magazine. Yeah, I agree about woman
looking actressy.
Framed, each cost $9.99 - Didn't want to buy them all for that.
oh yeah, but I did look at the signature on all and one of them
definitely looks like the last name is White.
Also thinking maybe Wilson White is middle and surname?
a puzzlement
