My monopod may be branded, but all my tripods are cheap.

It is sad to see that most of us recommend the costliest or branded
stuff w/o thinking that a monopod gets taken out maybe once or twice

The common aluminum monopods are not high tech stuff, so that most
products - branded or un-branded - are good enough.
Yes the Ball Head is High Tech stuff so absolutely no cost cutting here.
I have one, purchased from a good "mom & pop" store for $ 14.99. The
wise old owner told me "not to waste money on those branded stuff, as
they last just as long and do the job just as well"
I put a good German make HAMA Ball Head on it - bought ages ago in
Dubai for $ 28.
Here are the Specs on my good and sturdy $ 14.99 Monopod:
Material: Aluminium collapsible sections
Camera Mount: 3-D quality plastic head with
detachable Plate
Loading Capacity: 4.5 Kg (10 lbs)
Collapsed length: 62 cm
Extended length: 179 cm
Monopod Weight: 1.2 Kg
No of Sections: 4
Leg Clamps: Quick release lever type
Spirit Level: to aid camera alignment
Feet: adjustable for grass, soil or concrete
Foot Rest: Metal fold out.
