I use a MAnfrotto 679b w/Manfrotto 486 ballhead to support the Pentax
K20D and A*300mm f4.0. The combination works well enough, (the A*300
lacks a tripod ring so the combination is a bit front heavy). I
sometimes wish that I had a ballhead with a quick release camera mount.
I expect it would carry the weight of the K5 and 60-250, but neither is
made any longer. I think there are direct replacements in the Manfrotto
line with different model numbers and of course higher prices.

Checked the last two year's archives, nothing about monopods. What do
people recommend for a K-5 IIs with 60-250? Do you also use it as a
walking stick?
Anyone want to rant for or against monopods with mini-tripods?

Buy a Leica to get the full “Leica Experience”, (a quick reduction of funds in
the bank account).
