There are several lenses that are high on my wish list, that now that I'm
employed I could even pretend that I can afford, especially at an event like
this. Specifically the DA35 macro, which would be nearly a perfect lens for
photo walks in the woods with my K-5. Alternatively, if I wait until Cotty
makes hat soup, my DFA50 macro would fulfill the same niche, albeit with
slightly less depth of field.

the FA 77/1.8 attracted me strongly for that reason; on "full frame" it would be much like the 50/1.7 that i most use now (somewhat better IQ, and somewhat nicer bokeh, but not earth-shattering differences); but on my current camera, i decided the 77 wasn't such a compelling addition — i can still use the 50/1.7, and crop or walk toward the subject if i have to, with very good quality results; and the A 50/1.7 is so easy to replace i don't feel i have to baby it

DA 35 Macro was competing with the 77 as the next most attractive after the DA 15/4; close focus is not something i have in an everyday lens (my 105mm macro is just a little too big for comfort) but i have a 28mm that is pretty good, so aside from close focus i have the focal length covered; i now have a set of four primes at power of two lengths from 15 to 105mm
