I was in the southern Caribbean.
Two K-5II bodies. In the daytime, for tours of cities and countryside, I would
usually start with the 21mm and 35mm mounted. I tended to pivot around the
35mm; i.e., I might swap out the 21mm for the 55mm or 77mm or 200mm while the
35mm stayed in place. In the evenings in a city I would just carry one body
with the 35mm (in lieu of my original plan to use the 40mm); there were times
in the evenings when I wished I had mounted the 21mm instead. I used the 15mm
or 12-24mm for a few wide shots of ship interiors or harbor views, but they saw
far less use than I had expected.

I had far too much stuff with me. Not just photo gear, too much stuff in
general. I've been working on a list of what to take if/when I do something
similar again. My current plan would be to take two lenses for sure: 16-50/2.8
and 50-135/2.8. Maybe the 15mm or the 12-24 for wider shots, (but probably
not), maybe the 35/2.8 for a walk-around lens. If I were to head for Alaska, I
would probably take the 60-250/4.0 in lieu of the 50-135, but then I would add
the 77/1.8 or a 100mm macro to use as a longer walk-around lens. The 60-250 is
just a bit too bulky, and I wouldn't carry it unless there were a decent chance
of interesting wildlife shots.
