The 105mm is "too big" as in "too long focal length" or "too big to
carry"? After using the 35mm a couple of days in my trial rental, I
decided that it is indeed a very nice walkaround lens, but I was mostly
using the 16-50 as my primary walkaround for its wide-angle capabilities
and its main limitation is as a macro lens. I discovered that hitting
that limitation and switching to the 35mm was annoying because I then
needed to move a lot closer to whatever subject I was trying to get.

So for my cruise rental I'm going with the 100mm macro (which also
provides WR).
