Interesting - I think the background needs to be there for the expanse of shoreline - .. and that the distraction is not so much that there are people there but that the background is so much lighter/brighter than the foreground. evening that up would help and/or doing bw?
I'm thinking that without showing the distant shore line the need
for caution is less obvious - I'd have liked more above their heads
and in the distance.
