Just a couple of comments.

After handling a 645nII at a local shop yesterday.  I have no
doubt that Pentax always intended for this to be the flagship
camera.

Well maybe not a camera but I think some kind of digital insert
for the 645nII maybe possible.

Aren't all 645 lens limited. : )  Think about most are compact,
they are all well built (they certainly feel more solid than the
Mamiya 645AF equivalents, and they are all expensive.

I'm my no means an expert but I think the sync at all speed
function of the MZ-S removes the necessity for a leaf shutter
lens.
