My Dear PDMLers, let me begin with my strengths first.
I have a pretty good "photographic eye". So I can immediately discern
a photogenic scene, and stop by to examine all angles, sunlight
hitting the scene, harsh shadows, cloud formations, composition etc.
Then my brain tries to figure out a similar situation as this one from
my past photographic experience, and it gives me confidence.
But when I begin taking the actual photograph I am sort of lost and
find I have missed something and the photograph has not turned out as
I wanted to.
Example: on our life time visit to the Colosseum in Rome. This
required mastering "Bright and Dark" area photography as we landed
there at high noon - certainly a bad time for iconic photography.
I would keep blowing out the scene, the sky or the shadow area would
be lifeless. Flash would not help - the brain just fazed out perhaps.
I had to do a lot of PP when we came back home, to get a decent photo
of the Colosseum.
Lastly I never seem to get WB right 50% of the time in indoor
photography, or at dawn, or in low light.
Thanks for reading. I enjoyed your posts and learnt from them.
Regards.
Bipin - from that far away enchanting land.
