I haven't owned the lens but I did own the Pentax SMC DA 18-55mm
f/3.5-5.6 AL WR which wasn't too impressive. I sold it not long after
I purchased it as I was never pleased with the resultant image
quality. The Photozone review of the lens accords with my experience
and their review of the DA 18-135 is somewhat worse than that again so
I wouldn't expect too much compared to primes.
