Load capacity 88lbs - wonder just what that means? A pure vertical load, an
offset load ?? Trying to precisely lock down an 88lb camera/lens combo with
an off vertical location would be a real trick.
In any event, 88lbs is overkill for a 35mm format camera system. Hell my
600mm FA is only around 16lbs. (which I wouldn't put on a ball head anyhow).

88 lbs? That sounds wildly over-rated, particularly for the price they
are asking. B&H offers it, but NO reviews yet on the Ball Head (which
I find suspicious). Amazon has their tripods, but not their ball
heads. By the way, their tripods have only a few ratings, but range
from 3 to 3-1/2 stars out of 5.
I'm still pining for an ArcaTech GV2, perhaps the last piece of gear
that I really *need*. (a 5 star product with 57 reviews)

I just ran across a review of a 3 legged thing system, and
their ball head is rated for 40Kg (88 pounds), seems to
get good reviews, and is only $240. (there is a slightly
lower spec, less expensive version as well).
This system could be the next big thing, and great value for
the money. Or, it could just be a lot of clever advertising.
