All of the above recommendations are worth considering. Monument Valley, UT is 
worth a detour as well. My feeling is that the "south" rim of the Grand Canyon 
is the preferred choice..
3000K can be covered in the time period, the comfort of doing so simply depends 
on how much time is spent with each stop. In general, non specific terms, you'd 
certainly have to keep going in order to get it all in.
 
You'll love highway 395 that time of year. Don't miss June Lake Loop!!

Well, if you're looking at Zion, you might as well take in Bryce Canyon, 
Kodachrome Basin, and Capital Reef before heading down to the North Rim.

And thanks for your sympathy. It's boxed up for either repair or a 
decent burial.
