Not sure I would ever trust anyone else to do it as well.
as a very experienced software developer and consultant, i am amazed at the skill with which large, multiply-redundant cloud services are built (e.g. Amazon, Google); not that i'd trust them completely (in part for reasons other than reliability), just that i know i couldn't trust myself to do it as well
