I was actually thinking of Comrades during the last 10km, wondering why the hell anybody would do such a thing. Because it's there, of course. I didn't realise it was being run on the same date as ours.

That's quite a high DNF rate... what sort of temperatures did they experience? I didn't want to have to pull out because I don't know if they have transport back to base. From most parts of the course it would have been a very long walk back as you can't shortcut through the airport.
